IMPROVING THE ACCESS TO AND THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION

Burundi Education Foundation would like to improve the quality of primary and secondary education through teacher training, curriculum reform, the introduction of teaching innovations-like digitisation and Artificial Intelligence and the promotion of student-centred teaching and learning methods. livelihoods and improved quality of life.

IMPROVING THE ACCESS TO AND THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION

Our actions aim at structural reforms and improvements of the education and training system. The human capital is the prime asset of any state. Strengthening education and training schemes should be the priority and best response to enable better design policies, aiming at reforming, planning, managing and monitoring education and training.

Supporting policy development including adherence to the principle of decent work and decent pay for the Human Development Officers-HDO (primary teachers) and for the Human Development Executives-HDE (secondary teachers and university Lecturers). The HDO and HDE are the only resources who contribute to the added value of the prime asset of the country. Other activities include introducing result-based planning and budgeting and improving the financial management of
the sector.

DEVELOPPING SKILLS FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP

We support skills development and mindset change as a key strategy to address youth unemployment. We aim at providing the digital, manual and finance skills to improve and better equip the youth to become entrepreneur or to find a decent job.

We are also interested in developing and promoting tools, methods and approaches for inclusion of specific vulnerable groups like the pygmies (Abatwa), the young girls with children who have been excluded from the mainstream education and the disabled persons.
