DIGITAL CENTRES IN BURUNDI

The creation and development of Digital Centres in every province of Burundi is a key feature of BEF programme to improve ICT in Burundi. ICT stands for Information and Communication Technology, which is a technology that allows us to search for information and to communicate with each other. One of the most important changes that happen into humanity is ICT, which has brought a revolution in everyday life. We depend on it in our daily lives for communication, banking, social media, investment, research and so much more. Beside its omnipresence, Information, Communication technology (ICT) has immense economic significance. BEF aims to create, implement, and manage one Digital Centre for each province of Burundi. The first one will be in Kiganda for the province of Muramvya.
1. The Kiganda Digital Centre :

The Kiganda Digital Centre is the first project BEF is planning to launch in few months as part of its overall plan to create Digital Centres in every province (18) of the country.The first objective is to strengthen the teachers’ capacities in digital education to improve the quality of teaching and the resilience of the education system in the face of adversity.

The second objective is to offer marginalised communities a connected spaces to facilitate learning and professional training for young girls and boys.
